Lesson 2 · about 4 minutes

Is AI up to date?

It sounds current. It usually isn’t.

No signup. Pick the age band your child is in — the scenario changes, the lesson does not.

Every question in FutureMinds is written twice. So is this lesson.

Your child asks
The bus usually comes at 3:15. Is there one today?
AI replied
Yes — the 3:15 bus runs every weekday.

Would you trust that answer?

Not a level yet. Out-of-date answers are one of the ideas planned for Prompt Lab, the first quest added after launch.

One question catches all four.

Don’t ask only “What does AI say?”
Ask “How does AI know?”

Your child can practise this

FutureMinds teaches children 9–16 how AI works — through quests, not lectures. Launching 15 September.

Can AI tell if something is fake?
It can describe what a screenshot shows. It cannot check who sent the original, or whether it was edited.
What should you never ask AI?
Most AI advice is about checking the answer. This one is about not asking in the first place.
